September is Responsible Business Action Month (RBAM) at Rezidor.
Now in its 8th year, during RBAM hotels make an extra effort to contribute to their local community.
Rezidor hotels organise social and environmental activities and raise funds to support our corporate charity organisation, the World Childhood Foundation.
We want our hotels to be good neighbours and responsible citizens in their local community. Throughout the year and especially in September they are working with other businesses and residents as well as charities, parks, schools, hospitals, shelters, orphanages, care homes and other worthy institutions.
Some of our main regional activities planned for September 2011:
Middle East - The Box Appeal
The Box Appeal 2011 aims to help 10,000 people across the region. The initiative – taking place from 15th of August
to the 15th of September – is run by Radisson Blu and Park Inn Hotels in the Middle East. Watch The Box Appeal in action on local TV
Germany – SMS fundraising campaign for the World Childhood Foundation.
From 1-30th September 45 Rezidor hotels in Germany will launch an innovative fundraising campaign.
Guests, friends & family will be able to donate via SMS. Join the campaign on our Radissonblu.de and Parkinn.de websites!
Stockholm – Responsible Business Day on September 25th
6 Rezidor hotels in Stockholm jointly organize a Responsible Business Day in the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre with a Flea Market, animation and much more. All proceeds go to the World Childhood Foundation.
Paris – Rezidor Paris hotels run to support the fight against breast cancer
In September 2011 female staff of the 7 Rezidor hotels in Paris will join La Parisienne, a 6 km run through Paris in support of breast cancer research.
UK – Bike Challenge
Starting September 2011 31 hotels of the Rezidor hotel group in the UK, from the Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson brands, will join forces in a 6 month cycling campaign. All these training and preparation hours and events will culminate in the 3-week bike-relay, connecting our most northerly hotel in the UK, the Park Inn by Radisson Aberdeen, with the most southerly one, the Park Inn by Radisson Palace Southend-on-Sea
Russia – St. Petersburg support local orphanages through various activities
For the 5 Rezidor hotels in St Petersburg September is a month dedicated to orphans. Additionally staff of all our St. Petersburg hotels will organize a surprise flash-mob dance benefiting the World Childhood Foundation. So, keep your eyes open around 10th of September in one of the main shopping malls of St. Petersburg, Galeria located in the city centre 50 m from the Park Inn by Radisson Nevsky hotel.
Belgium – volunteering in Brussels with Serve the City
Rezidor's head office and the 3 Rezidor hotels in Brussels will join forces throughout September to assist the needy in the city of Brussels in partnership with Serve the City.
Results of September 2011 activities will be announced in October.
The Box-appeal
Volunteers and organizers came together in a nationwide campaign to donate and distribute 10,000 boxes filled with everyday necessities to labourers in the UAE. The National follows volunteer Harpreet Kibby and her involvement with the appeal.
